Banksia Park HBN Magnate ET

Banksia Park Magnate is our Solid White, Super Fine and Super Soft Stud Male.

We bought Magnate on 23rd April 2007 when he was just 3 days old.

We should ask a question here -  Would you pay $50,000 (NZ) for a 3 day old Cria ? - Well we did.

 
The two pictures above are of Magnate when he was just 3 days old.

When we told our friends what we had done, they all thought we had gone mad, they could not believe that anyone would pay any amount of money for a Cria that has just been born let along the amount we did.

But what they did not know, was that we saw him born and over the next 3 days as he dried out and started running around, what a truly magnificent animal this Cria was and the potential this animal had and would do to our herd, was one of the most exciting things we had ever seen.

We had never seen a Cria with such tight curls and when you touched these curls, it was like he was covered in tiny knots from his nose to his toes.  His fleece just glistened in the hot Auzy sun, the brightness was just breathtaking.  There was not a single Medulated fibre or guard hair anywhere on his entire body, he was like a mythical Alpaca from ancient times.

Besides looking like nothing we had ever seen before, he had the genetics we also wanted to add to our herd and we knew he would (because of his sire) soften our herd to give outstanding handle to his cria.

We already owned a female sired by Napoleon (Truth) and she has one of the softest handling fleeces in our herd, in fact her Cria last year (2009) had the finest fleece of all our Cria that year.

You can see the coverage and density that Magnate possesses and that he is in perfect balance. He has one of the best “Heads” I have ever seen on any Alpaca. His fleece is amazingly soft and it still covers his entire body, still from his nose to his toes.

Magnate also has a fantastic nature and is a very 'Soft' Male. He is now working well and we are waiting for his first Cria due (May 2010).

We have no doubts what so ever about what sort of Cria Magnate will produce and we can’t wait for when we finally have some In Tune daughters for Magnate to go over as we believe these matings will produce something truly amazing.

Magnates Showing Record:

Like most shows, it all depends on who is the Judge as to how well Magnate has done. 
He has now won several Championships and picked up 2 Supremes at bigger shows. In fact the first show we ever took him to (Rotorua A&P) we took the Supreme there.

He is an extremely good show animal, he has presence, good looks and a beautiful soft crimpy fleece that covers his whole body.

Magnate has just turned 3 years old (April 2010) and he is looking Magnificent as a 3 year old male should.

When we first bought Magnate, we knew we wanted a male sired by Napoleon because of the soft handling fleeces he produced. When we learnt that his Dam was sired by the famous Benleigh Bellisimo, we knew this animal would be a winner.

Magnate has more of a traditional type fleece with a beautiful handle and softness you need to put your hands on to be able to understand this. His fleece is bright, crisp and clean.We believe Magnate will improve any female he covers and will produce show quality stock that will look fantastic.
